Patient Notice – if you or someone you have been in contact with in the last 14 days are showing symptoms of coronavirus, DO NOT come into the surgery, Call 111, stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people.
There are appointments available each day in our urgent care clinic (see below), with doctors, or with nurses. All appointments are accessible either through booking with our reception team or using our online system.
Urgent Care Clinic
This service is normally run by our Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Rosemarie O’Connor. This clinic is overseen by our Duty Doctor and is intended for patients who require advice and/or treatment for acute conditions.
Conditions may include:
- Abdominal pain
- Chest infections
- Childhood illnesses
- Coughs, colds and flu-like illnesses
- Eye problems
- Emergency contraception
- Minor injuries
- Muscle and joint injuries
- Skin complaints
- Urine infections
We offer both pre-bookable and “on the day” telephone appointments with a doctor who will discuss with you how to best manage your problem. This may mean that you do not need to visit the surgery if the issue can be resolved over the telephone. Alternatively you may be booked for investigations before seeing the doctor, or if needed the doctor will ask you to come in to see them within a couple of hours of your telephone call, or at a more convenient time for you.
There are a small number of pre-bookable “face to face” appointments.
Practice Nurse & Healthcare Assistant (HCA) appointments
Our nursing team offers a wide range of services including: chronic disease management, smear tests, wound care, blood tests, blood pressure checks, contraceptive pill & HRT checks, travel advice and immunisations.
Nurse and HCA appointments are available to pre-book.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please cancel as soon as possible in order for us to give the appointment to someone else.
